Audio Collection and Storage

Speaknosis employs a secure and efficient process for collecting and storing audio data, prioritizing patient privacy and HIPAA compliance. Here's how it works:

  1. Secure Recording: Conversations are recorded using a secure interface, ensuring data integrity from the outset. The recording process is initiated by pressing a designated button within the application.

  2. Chunking for Security: The audio is divided into small, two-minute chunks. This process enhances security by preventing access to the full conversation in a single file and minimizing the impact of any potential data breach.

  3. Encryption in Transit and at Rest: Each audio chunk is encrypted both during transmission to Google Cloud Storage and while stored. This encryption protects the data from unauthorized access, even in the unlikely event of a security breach.

  4. Flexible Storage Options: Speaknosis offers flexible storage options to meet the specific needs of healthcare providers. Audio chunks can be stored in our secure Google Cloud Storage environment. Alternatively, healthcare providers can choose to manage their own dedicated Google Cloud Storage buckets, giving them full control over their data. This option ensures that sensitive patient audio data remains solely under the control of the healthcare provider.

  5. Data Retention Policies: Speaknosis maintains clear data retention policies that comply with HIPAA regulations and industry best practices. These policies ensure that data is stored securely for the required period and then disposed of safely and responsibly.

This meticulous approach to audio collection and storage ensures the confidentiality and integrity of patient data, while providing healthcare providers with flexible and secure storage options.
